What does the JSON to CSV do?
To convert JSON to CSV, paste a JSON array of objects. Each object becomes a row and each key becomes a column. Nested objects become columns like customer.city, and lists can be joined into one cell or split into several rows.
How to use the JSON to CSV
- Paste a JSON array of objects, or open a .json file.
- Choose the delimiter and whether to include a header row.
- Decide how nested objects and lists are handled. The CSV updates as you change options.
- Copy the CSV or download it. Excel-friendly mode adds a UTF-8 marker so accents display correctly.
When it helps
- Opening API data in Excel or Google Sheets
- Importing records into a database
- Sharing data with people who do not use JSON
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert JSON to CSV?
Paste a JSON array of objects. The CSV appears on the right and can be copied or downloaded.
How are nested objects handled?
By default they become columns named with dots, such as customer.name. You can use underscores instead or keep nested objects as JSON text in one cell.
What happens to arrays inside a record?
Choose to join values with a semicolon, create one row per item, or keep the array as JSON text.
Can I protect against formula injection?
Yes. Turn on Protect against formulas to prefix values that start with =, +, - or @ with an apostrophe, so spreadsheets do not run them.
Is there a size limit?
There is no upload, so the limit is your browser memory. Very large files work best as downloads rather than copied text.
